FIGHTING THE FUNK!

Somedays, I have to say, my life is in a funk. My plans don't seem to work out. I slip on my eating plan. My schedule fills up and before I know it....I am going to bed and I didn't even get to workout. Don't despair. I recently told someone, I am not worried about gaining all my old weight back, because in general, most days, I stick to my plan, because it is my new lifestyle. Things happen, just as simple as that. Life happens actually. Don't lose hope, don't throw in the towel, keep your chin up and press on. Remember how good it feels to eat right and exercise. Exercise has been such a great stress reliever for me in such a way, my legs are bouncing in excitement at the end of the day. I have told my coworkers " I can't wait to go to the gym, or walk, or do some activity". I have now associated such positivism with eating healthy and exercising that it is a reward. This is versus going to Cold Stone and buying a big sized sundae. Now I may do that once in a while, but I don't make it a habit of it. My new favorite meal at The Habit is a garden salad with added Tuna filet. It is so yummy with lots of fresh veggies and I add 3 kinds of peppers with it and sometimes I will splurge and get Blue Cheese dressing! I see my family getting the burgers and fries, but now I always get the salad. If I eat out at Chipotle I always get the Salad Bowl with Sofritas and add grilled veggies, corn and chunky and hot salsa. I get the cheese and sour cream and it tastes so good that I don't miss the meat!
I mostly make food at home but if I want a sandwich eating out I go to Subway and get the Veggie Delight or the Veggie Pattie with all the veggies and hot peppers added to it. I am just in the habit of eating more veggies and fruits and this is  a major change in my life and I am happy for it. I used to go days without any fruits or veggies. I also am more full by eating this way too. Mostly a good habit of mine is drinking lots of water, or water with lemon juice squeezed into it. This helps keep your body alkaline. This is good for you.
All of these things, I have done again and again. It has become a habit for me and a good one at that. It has stuck to me too and I don't feel I will change these ways. I also buy whole wheat tortillas, the high fiber ones are good and soft taco sized. Usually they are 50-100 calories each. I wrap veggies and tuna or grilled chicken in them and maybe a sprinkling of low-fat cheese. I do this a couple times a week for dinner or maybe a lunch to bring to work. I eat a lot of tuna too. It is low calorie, filling and I can dress it up all I like.
Hope some of these tips helps someone out there reading this.. Enjoy!
